When We Don't Understand

Good Sunday morning to all of you! What a beautiful day! I say it is the calm before the storm from what the news was saying this morning. It is hard to believe we are going to be in the high 70's in February! I am going to enjoy every minute of today and not waste the gorgeous weather. After church I hope to enjoy this sunshine! It works wonders on my fibromyalgia!

Do you ever have misunderstandings or strained relationships with family and or friends? I am certain you have or are going through this even now. We all have at one time or another been involved in difficult relationships either with our children, spouses, friends, extended families and co-workers.  How do you keep perspective and maintain a mature relationship without resorting to attacks, innuendo and fault finding? It is not easy when both sides have valid points and both sides have past hurts and regrets especially when you may not be able to see that person on a regular basis. It is much easier for the bond to slowly seep away until it gets easier and easier to just ignore the issues and ignore making those much needed phones calls, texts and or letters to keep in close contact with those we claim to love.

I have been through alot in my years and have learned that the only way to make a relationship better is to confront what is bothering me with that person head on and be completely and totally honest. Get out those feelings that are hurtful without attacking. You can say what is on your mind without being mean and hateful. You can let a person know your true feelings and why you feel the way you do but you have to be willing to take that step and say we need to talk. Silence is not golden when both sides are miserable and in pain. It leaves you drained emotionally and sad. It is an ongoing cancer that grows until one day you find all your relationships are suffering because you refused to address your pain, sorrow, disappointments and anger. It is totally ok to have those feelings. God made us exactly the way He wanted to. What we feel needs to not be swept under the rug and ignored. Our feelings and why we have gotten to this point should be something we are allowed to express. Those who truly care will want you to let out those true feelings. Those who do not care and are happy to remain with a severed relationship will be as miserable as you are until that relationship is restored if they truly love you from their heart and soul.

If you are suffering from a severed relationship and know in your heart you truly love that person do not wait to initiate a conversation. Lose the pride and be on your way to peace, joy and happiness. Life is short and we are not promised tomorrow and living with those kinds of regrets is not easy. So what if you know the other person is mostly at fault? Do what is right anyway. Those of us who have been around alot longer have severed relationships from the past and we wish we had done everything possible to do whatever was necessary to restore them and now it is too late.

May God bless you and your relationships!

Celebrating the positive!

TGIF! What a beautiful day and weekend we are going to have! I hope you have something planned for the great outdoors this weekend. I am so ready for Spring to be here and I am thankful for a taste of it early.

Many of us have been bombarded with so many things and worry much of the time over physical pains, bad news of all different kinds, family disputes, financial worries, loss of loved ones, illness of all kinds that we just do not understand involving those closest to us, concern for friends and family gone astray, misunderstandings, job losses, and homes not selling or homeowners having to take huge losses ALL contribute greatly to our stress levels and can cause serious health issues in our own lives when we do not turn it all over to God and allow him to carry our burdens.

It is so easy to get into an every day habit of dwelling on the negative allowing it to consume us and get us down so that before long we are ill ourselves and in a fit of despair because we want to take control of the situation but we must realize it is out of our hands. We cannot fix everything. Only God can do that and He has a reason for each and every trial and burden we go through. We must allow His will to be accomplished and pray to that end. We may not understand but He knows what it best for all of us and He promises not to put on us more than we can bear. We must learn to stop and take care of ourselves and pray and trust Him to do what it best in all situations. Sometimes stepping back from the problem entirely may be what we need to do to gain perspective and regroup because we may be doing more harm than good to our children, family and friends. We must remember to keep our testimony intact at all times and not say anything that could offend or hurt another. When we are full of stress we tend to lash out as we are impatient and want to control the situation ourselves.

If you are dwelling on all the problems of life like I sometimes do you may need to stop and regroup like I said above and maybe take a break entirely and do something special this weekend just for you to calm and relax you and gain back your perspective. Try to think about all the good things you have in your life. Claim God's promises and bask in the sunshine of His love knowing He cares for you and there is not one thing He does not want to hear about. Take it all to Him in prayer and may you find total peace and restoration preparing you for the week ahead. We may not be able to rid ourselves of the problems of this life but we have our Heavenly Father who knows every pain and worry we feel and loves us with an unconditional love and is just waiting for us to climb under His wings of protection and sactuary.

God bless you and your families!

How your FICO score affects your credit

Good Thursday morning to all of you! I hope you have a prosperous and joyful day!

Today I am posting an article about how our FICO score affects our credit. Does that mean I agree with it? No.  Personally I think this entire way of calculation is not fully accurate nor fair and wish they would do away with it entirely and look at the entire picture when assessing a borrowers credit worthiness. There are many factors that play into why a persons score is lower or why someone does not have a score at all. Those who have no scores are treated like the plague and many I have come in contact with have saved their money and tried very hard to be responsible avoiding the pitfalls many of us have faced by going into credit card debt and over extending themselves with too much credit. Those people should be rewarded not treated as if they have done something wrong. I have been working with several people in the last couple of months who have thousands saved and don't have enough history for a lender to touch them at this time.  On the other side of things I have talked with other folks both young and old who have gotten in over their heads in debt from offers from credit card companies etc...and before long they are out of control and they have ruined their credit and that could take years to restore.

I hope you find the article helpful.

Have a wonderful day!

What a beautiful Sunday morning! I hope you all have a wonderful weekend and Happy Valentine's Day!

Below are a couple of articles on how sellers can present their homes in the very best way possible. I have walked into homes that are just a vast array of colors and we try to teach sellers that neutral is the best way to go if you are going to sell your home. If you DO want a "bit" of color picking the "right" shade is very important and the article about how to pick color is interesting and informative but more importantly the article on repairing damaged walls is extremely helpful. It has been my experience that homes with many different colors and with damaged walls sell for significantly less than freshly painted neutral walls. This is a relatively inexpensive thing that sellers can and should do before placing their homes on the market.

Both of these articles offer ways you can avoid some pitfalls of todays sellers in a tough competitive market.

Enjoy and as always contact me with any questions you may have!  864-621-9933 or lisaebersole@charter.net

Happy Thursday morning to all of you! I am so happy to see the sunshine today! We had a dusting of snow last night but it will clear up quickly and be gone. I am looking forward to a nice weekend! I hope you all have something enjoyable planned with your friends and family!

I am going to be posting a series of ideas for sellers to get their homes ready to sell. If you are a seller getting ready to list your home OR a seller who currently has your home on the market these ideas will really help you to decide which projects to tackle that will help you to get the most return. With so many homes to choose from and many of them being very reasonable foreclosures in good condition it is so important for sellers to do everything possible to make their home stand out from among all the others.

As always if you have any questions at all please do not hesitate to contact me directly at  864-621-9933 or email me at lisaebersole@charter.net  .

Have a wonderful day!

Celebrate The Love Day!

Good Monday morning to all of you! Can you believe it is almost Valentine's Day?

I am not a cold weather fan but the month of February does make me smile as this is the month we celebrate our love for each other. I do not just look at this holiday as one to celebrate the love of couples but also the love for our children, friends and extended family. It is a time when we can make sure we stop and smell the roses and give roses to those most special in our lives. During a month when typically we have cold temperatures and there is not much in the way of outdoor activity planning a special getaway with a special someone is a great way to celebrate. We plan on spending a couple of days in Gatlinburg to try and get some much needed rest and relaxation and just time away to clear our heads and enjoy each others company without interference from technology.

When I was a little girl I can remember my Dad giving my sister and I a heart shaped box of bubblegum at Valentine's day which I always have remembered as a special memory. Giving and receiving Valentine's from our friends in school was so much fun and a wonderful way to just make someone else's day a bit better. I smile when I think of all the Valentine heart boxes of candy I received while in high school. Receiving chocolates just always makes you smile. Our celebration now between my husband and myself usually consists of a very special dinner one or the other cooks for each other, special love notes and a couple of gifts all given, eaten and taken in candlelight. What a romantic setting!

No matter what you decide to do this Valentine's day I pray your holiday will be filled with love, laughter, peace and joy.

Have a wonderful week!!!

Improve Your Credit So You Can Buy!

I cannot tell you how many times I receive calls from buyers who are out looking at homes who have no idea if they can purchase or not. I have had them tell me they have spent weeks and weeks sometimes months looking at homes on their own and finally they call up after much frustration deciding they need help only to be told they cannot do anything because they do not meet the qualifications the lenders require. It is IMPERATIVE that a person who is looking to purchase a home forget about "looking" at any homes until they are prequalified. Lenders requirements these days are much more stringent and every I must be dotted and t crossed. The most time saving thing you can do for yourself is prepare way ahead of time so that when you do find the home of your dreams you will have your preapproval ready in hand and you can have a chance at closing on that property.  Why waste precious time looking at homes when you have no idea what type of mortgage you can do, how much you can really afford, how much closing costs the lender will allow the seller to pay on your behalf and many many other things that you will find out only when you have prequalified through a reputable lender. Making sure you are saving your money, paying all your bills on time, paying down credit, keeping good job stability and rental history are all very important in obtaining a preapproval and can make the difference between obtaining a higher interest rate or saving thousands upon thousands by getting the very best deal available to you due to your good sense in planning ahead.  Below is a great article which you may have seen before but it bears repeating over and over again because I still receive calls from buyers who have no idea if they can purchase or not but are out looking at homes!  If you are in search of a home and need a list of excellent reputable lenders please feel free to give me a call!  Have a wonderful week!
